NaphCare Awards Scholarships to Valley High School Students for Fifth Year

Ten members of the Valley High School class of 2016 have been awarded academic scholarships by the NaphCare Charitable Foundation of Birmingham, Alabama at Valley High’s Senior Recognition Program. This year’s awards mark the fifth anniversary of NaphCare’s contributions to Valley High School. Fifty-one graduating seniors have received NaphCare scholarships since the beginning of the Foundation’s association with Valley High School in 2011. NaphCare has also funded dual enrollment tuition scholarships for over fifty rising juniors.

The following graduates were honored as NaphCare recipients at this year’s Senior Recognition Day:

  • Raven Houston
  • Kayden Cannon
  • Asia Murphy
  • Jada Dent
  • Brianna Fears
  • Hailee Lassett
  • Hannah Lassett
  • Caitlin Colley
  • Jaelin Dawson
  • Jared Hinkle

Each student received a scholarship valued at $10,000. The scholarship Selection Committee consists of members of the VHS class of 1961, whose scholarship initiative for graduating Valley High School seniors first attracted the attention of the NaphCare Foundation. NaphCare Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic records and service to their school and community. NaphCare is particularly interested in students who have a strong track record of productive and innovative service to the Valley community and who show promise of on-going community involvement in the future.
