NaphCare Awards Scholarships to Valley High School Students for Eighth Year

Ten members of the Valley High School class of 2019 have been awarded academic scholarships by the NaphCare Charitable Foundation of Birmingham, Alabama at Valley High’s Senior Recognition Program. This year’s awards mark the eighth anniversary of NaphCare’s contributions to Valley High School. Eighty-one graduating seniors have received NaphCare scholarships since the beginning of the Foundation’s association with Valley High School in 2011. NaphCare has also funded dual enrollment tuition scholarships for over two hundred rising juniors.
The following graduates were honored as NaphCare recipients at this year’s Senior Recognition Day:

- Dakota Jones
- Nunnie Langley
- Ansley Strength
Each student received a scholarship valued at $10,000. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic records and service to their school and community. NaphCare is particularly interested in selecting students who have a strong track record of productive and innovative service to the Valley community and who show promise of on-going community involvement in the future. This year’s selection committee includes Tana Branch and Randa Graves, from Valley High School’s Class of 1961, and Jeremy Bearden, from Southern Union State Community College’s Department of English.
